Expectations...

It was not easy decision to enroll in this class. An Entrepreneurship is not on the list of my American Dreams. I am not going to jump into an entrepreneur ship with my current background because it is too risky.  Somebody said never say no. The economics has been going up and down, so someday I might be out of work. In such case the knowledge that I gain in TINST475 will be useful.


Business Dictionary defines the entrepreneurship as "Capacity and willingness to undertake conception, organization, and management of a productive venture with all attendant risks, while seeking profit as a reward". So, I expect that in this class I will learn how to establish and run technology-based start-up company, starting from some good idea, and finishing by complete business plan. Another important part of each business is people, and I would like to learn the details of hiring and retaining employees. I suppose that finances as integral part of entrepreneurial venture will be covered in great details.

The good way of learning is the learning on the experience by someone else. Since we will have a several Guest lecturers in class who will share their own experience with us, I expect to find the answers on many what, where, who, and how questions before making a mistake. Another good way of learning is reading. We have assigned reading several interesting books. Thus, I expect to learn a lot and be involved in interesting and productive work in this class.
